Mereth Library Key — SR-0052

A tuning key: struck at the door of a library chamber, it told the walls what to remember.

The Resonant Libraries of Mereth were caverns of tuned crystal kept still by the cold. To add to a chamber, a librarian struck its key at the threshold; the key’s lattice set the whole chamber ringing in a pattern ready to receive.

Each chamber had one key. This one opened the chamber of weather.

Hexagonal lattice, 4 shells. The chamber it keyed is described elsewhere in 1,210 fragments, all about rain.

Integrity 58%. Ice-stable crystal. 14 × 9 × 9 cm.
